Over the weekend (4/28/2018) Emerald Rising had the extreme pleasure of presenting the Being Free to be Me Workshop at the We Are Girls Conference hosted by the Girls Empowerment Network.

The Being Free to be Me Workshop motivated girls, 6th-8th grade, to accept their individuality and personal style. The workshop started off with the girls chanting "I am Fearfully and Wonderfully Made", followed up with them writing down affirmations, an I accept commitment, and a list of things that set them apart from others on either a heart, flower, or butterfly cutout.

Then the real fun came. The ladies picked out a few accessories that best fit their personality and had their own personal photo shoot.

After the photos were taken they were placed and decorated on the cutout to create memorabilia, reminding them how special and beautiful they are!

SGCMH Women's Health Fair Pre-Oscar Party

Emerald Rising had the honor of participating in the Ste. Genevieve's County Memorial Hospital Women's Fair this past weekend. Emerald Rising's CEO, Londen Underwood was the wardrobe consultant for the guest in the VIP suite, providing style consultations and shopping guides.

We worked with four women, creating everyday outfits to special event looks. See the looks below!

Jenny is a mother of 2 teenage girls. She loves jewelry but never wears it. Jenny explained that she has gotten use to wearing khakis and jeans everywhere. We decided to create her a transitional look one that can be worn at work, church, or on a date. We incorporated Jenny's favorite colors (blue, green, yellow, and purple) to show how to pair multiple colors tastefully.

Jane

Jane will be attending a special event at the casino. She is originally from New Orleans and loves to party. We paired her with a little goth and sophistication, incorporating her love of black and favorite store Hot Topic.

A REVEAL FOR TWO

Sometimes in life we become so lost, the not knowing can be very scary, and searching for your purpose can be so uneasy. At times it can make you want to give up, play it safe and stay at that day in and day out, 9-5 job just to get paid. I have become all too familiar with this common struggle especially after starting my own business. It's NOT easy!!! Having this vision and trying to make others see or believe in it can be very challenging. The hang ups and disappointments can make this tough girl cry. This feeling became my reality just last week, the day before I was scheduled to do a transformation photo shoot for my client Carmen Knowles. I was at the point that maybe I should put my business on the back burner and go back to working 2 jobs.

Then Saturday came and this happened...

All of my doubts were pushed aside, stomped, and buried! I saw myself, I saw my vision, I saw my purpose again! Just seeing Carmen step out of her comfort zone and embracing her new look confirmed exactly why I started my business. So with that being said, I'm here to help others, to push them to new heights and to help illuminate their confidence. I want to thank Carmen so much!! By having the opportunity to help you was two-fold, I was able to help myself and remember my reason for doing what I do!!! Thanks for going on this journey with me. I am extremely happy and excited to continue to see you flourish.
